to piercings. that's pretty sad. i only have 9 but thats not by choice. my favorite would be my sternum, since not many people have it. i like to gauge them too. i usually get a lot of s--- because of what i have done. i don't think i look rough like some people tell me but i guess thats just their opinion. so eff them all. |

I have 13 piercings - one in my lip (although I've tried to get another), and the rest in my ears. I got most of them done when I was about 14. Strangely enough, my parents never noticed or didn't comment.
I never get any grief about them because everyone that I know now has just always seen them there. To be honest, I forget they're there most of the time. I work for the NHS, and even they couldn't care less.
Never fancied any on my septum/arms/neck, although I know people with them. I reckon they'd catch on your clothes. Please enlighten me... |

Have you ever had any problems with piercings trying to reject themselves? Or never quite healing? I've been absolutely fraught!
When I was younger i had both of my nipples pierced, and neither of them ever really healed completely.. They would flare up every few months or so... Then someone nearly ripped one of them out, so I couldn't be arsed with it any more!
My eyebrow piercing was trying desparately to escape.. When I took that out, it was such a relief to be able to wash my face without catching it! Shame, because it looked great!
My second lip piercing was put too far away from the top of my lip, so there was no jewellery that would fit in it comfortably... and it started rejecting from the inside of my lip (but not the outside). That was awful!
I had a tongue piercing a few years ago, which didn't try to reject, but it was pierced on a slant so it never sat right in my mouth.... and I ended up getting fed up with it and taking it out.
Needless to say... I think I'm just gonna stick with the ones I've got.
Anyone else as unlucky as me? I'm just glad I havent scarred anywhere! |

Yea i know what you mean Bigredish, my piercings would take forever to heal...my industrial took about a yr or more to heal but im not much of a good healer ... damn it...
Ive jus had a micro-dermal piercing in my hand done and this seems to of taken really well and is healing nicely so fingers crossed it can only get better then it'll be time for the other hand
Wanting to be someone else is a waste of the person you are! |

My tongue was swollen for about a week, and then the pain went away, besides me chomping down on it every now and then. My nose was easy. I got the side of my lip done, but something happened and it swelled a month later and was excruiating and oozing gross s---. So I took it out. I got my eyebrow done, and it never fully healed, even though I had it for four or five months. It kept swelling and oozing as well. My vertical labret was easy! Hurt SO bad to pierce, but the pain was gone as soon as they slipped the jewelry in. I was back to kissing a week later. Ugh, a guy tried to bite my lip though, and that hurt pretty damn bad! My piercings were overall pretty simple, thank god. I went to a good place though.

`Every piercing I've had has taken ages to heal. My nose took yrs to heal, and 16 yrs on still gets sore. I had my nipple pierced, and a yr later, still hadnt healed so I took it out. I had 2 anchors just below my collar bone about 8 months ago, and have had nothing but trouble. The large was infected for months and I had to have it drained. Now the small one has started growing out, but half is still attached to the skin...lol. A few weeks ago I had my lip pierced (monroe) wot a nightmare....its so sore with a massive lump inside, constantly coming out and bashes on my teeth too......think there all a pain in the arse...lol

`Hello Tibby I would say you probably have a nickle allergy . This is an accumlative allergy which means the more you subject your body to it the greater it gets . It can be noticed most with surgical steel but if you have a large allergy you will get your symptoms even from titanium (ie dermal implant bases and piercing jewellery) as titanium has 0.01% in it.
All apart from the dermals and surface bars can be replaced with PTFE or bioplast which is surgical grade plastic .
